Benefits of Raisins

Grapes are familiar to almost us, but not everybody knows the benefits of raisins. Raisins are grapes that have been dehydrated via the sun or mechanical drying process. Researches have shown that  raisins might help fight cavities and gum disease--not cause them.

Here followings are the benefits of raisins.
1. Constipation: when ingested, raisins swell as the fiber present in them in dried form absorbs water. This helps giving relief in constipation, and this is only one of benefits of raisins.
2. Weight gain: in most people's eyes, the world's trend in present day is to lose weight. However, many people still suffer the bad effects of cibophobia. The other benefits of raisins, like all dry fruits, are good for gaining weight, as they are full of fructose and glucose and give a lot of energy. Thus, they form an ideal part of the diet for either athletes or body builders who need a lot of energy or those who want to put on weight, without accumulating cholesterol. This is further boosted due to presence of many vitamins, amino acids and minerals in raisins which facilities absorption of other nutrients and proteins in the body, so this is one kind of benefits of raisins.
3. Eye care: raisins contain polyphenolic phytonutrients which have anti oxidant properties which are very good for ocular health, as they protect eyes from damages caused by free radicals, such as macular degeneration, age related weakening of vision, cataract etc. in addition, it contains very good amount of vitamin-A, A-Beta Carotene and A-Carotenoid, all of which are essential for a good ocular health.

All of the benefits of raisins I mentioned above are just small part, and they have many other benefits waiting for you to discover.
